St. Kitts Music Festival

To enjoy a Caribbean getaway and also see live performance from today’s hottest musicians, then the annual St. Kitts Music Festival from the 24th through the 26th of June, 2010, is designed just for you.

St. Kitts is easily accessible from anywhere in the world and the Festival is known for its rich diversity and family-friendly atmosphere. Each year, locals and visitors alike become part of a community bound together by a shared love of music. Past performers include: Air Supply, Dionne Warwick, Kenny Rogers, Boyz II Men, Wyclef Jean, Brian McKnight, Ashanti, Shaggy, Eve, Bobby Caldwell, DMX, Hugh Masekala, Xtatik, the Temptations, Chaka Khan, Ronald “Boo” Hinkson and Busta Rhymes. National Carnival

Throughout the year there are community festivals that showcase specific aspects of a community’s culture. However, during December to January each year, all talents and excitement culminate in the National Carnival with music and story telling in the soca and calypso songs. Costumes, pageantry, folklore performances and local food also take centre stage and unite to create a fun atmosphere. Perhaps the most exciting and captivating display of St. Kitts’ heritage is when local residents and tourist alike gather to celebrate the island’s unique sights, sounds and traditions. Carnival spans from Boxing Day to New Year’s and events take place at various sites across the island.
