National Carnival
Throughout the year there are community festivals that showcase specific aspects of a community’s culture. However, during December to January each year, all talents and excitement culminate in the National Carnival with music and story telling in the soca and calypso songs. Costumes,
pageantry, folklore performances and local food also take centre stage and unite to create a fun atmosphere. Perhaps the most exciting and
captivating display of St. Kitts’ heritage is when local residents and tourist alike gather to celebrate the island’s unique
sights, sounds and traditions. Carnival spans from Boxing Day to New Year’s and events take place at various sites across the island.
